Description/SynopsisWe have an exciting opportunity available for a Cost Accountant at a subsidiary of a leading manufacturing group, specializing in the mining industry. This position is critical for driving cost management and financial efficiency across the business. The successful candidate will play a key role in financial and cost accounting duties, working closely with the Finance Manager to ensure effective budgeting, financial analysis, and cost control.Minimum RequirementsBCom Degree in AccountingCompleted SAICA/SAIPA Articles (Essential)Experience in cost accounting within the mining or manufacturing industriesStrong knowledge of financial and cost control processesExperience using Syspro ERP System would be idealAnalytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skillsProficiency in financial reporting, budget management, and cost analysisAdvanced knowledge of accounting software and MS ExcelStrong communication skills and ability to present financial insightsResponsibilitiesBudget Monitoring:Oversee and track operational budgets to ensure company activities align with business objectivesAnalyze and monitor financial expenditures, comparing actual costs to budgeted figures to identify and minimize variancesCost Management:Manage and control company costs by monitoring budgets and financial conditions to ensure all expenses are properly registered and reportedEvaluate project costs to ensure effectiveness and alignment with the company's business goalsFinancial Reporting:Prepare periodic financial reports to keep the board updated on project progress and financial performanceProvide economic analysis and cost insights to support informed decision-makingContract Review:Review agreements for various projects to ensure compliance with financial policies and alignment with the company's objectivesSoft Skills/Additional InfoStrong attention to detail and high level of accuracyAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamExcellent organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlinesDesired SkillsStrong attention to detailHigh level of accuracyAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamAbout The EmployerDo you see yourself as the successful Cost Accountant at this leading Company?
