Overall Responsibility:Plans and directs accounting activities within the Finance department by performing the following duties, personally or through subordinate supervisors.Focus Area 1Financial ReportsCompilation and reporting of informative monthly management accounts for all divisions/companies in the business, including both manufacturing and restaurants.Management and preparation of annual budget and quarterly reforecasting including balance sheet and cash flow forecasts, as well as monthly reporting on budget variances.Implement, document and manage financial processes to ensure completeness of capturing as well as system controls and reconciliations to minimize financial risks, including bank/creditor/debtor recons and full balance sheet substantiation and segregation of duties/system access control.Focus Area 2Financial BooksEnsure accuracy of accounts adhering to statutory requirements of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).Compilation of annual AFS and management of the external Audit process.Ensure SARS compliance, timely reporting/submission and payment of VAT, PAYE and other employee related taxes, companies tax, excise and any other taxes that may arise in the business.Manage day to day banking relationship with transactional bankers, as well as day to day cash flow requirements and cash management, including foreign currency payments/receipts and related exchange control compliance.Manage debtors' collection in a timely manner and with good customer experience, escalate risk customers to business.Ensure creditors are paid timeously according to service level agreements through reviews of creditors terms and conditions.Manage and maintain costings of all products, including overhead absorption strategy, cost/volume/usages variances.Manage the set of accounts and departments to a level of detail that provides optimum information into the business.Company secretarial compliance, including CIPC Annual Returns and Share Register Maintenance.Conduct analysis of revenue, GP and cost trends within the accounting records to ensure completeness, accuracy and validity of the financial statements as well as to provide critical and useful data into the business for decision making.Focus Area 3Additional ResponsibilitiesManagement of monthly payroll and bi-weekly wage runs ensuring all employees are paid timeously, as well as annual Workman's Compensation return submission and payment.Development and review of expense cost allocation strategy, including activity-based costing, to drive optimum decision making in the business.Drive correction of system issues/bug fixes as well as development of new finance related requirements relating to Acumatica ERP System with the IT department.Manage team member performance, create and implement staff and resource plans, ensure team members have required skills by assessing gaps and development areas and creating development plans.Requirements of the RoleBachelor's degree/Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Completed or partially completed (with a view to complete in the near future) CA or CIMA qualification.2-4 years of experience in similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.Preferred SkillsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.High level of integrity and ethical behavior.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organization.Proven ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.NB: Specific duties/responsibilities will vary from time to time: the above list is intended to indicate the general nature of the post and is not exhaustive.
