A brand-new and very exciting opportunity is open for a highly experienced Financial Analyst/Cost Accountant. This is a project-based temporary six-month contract. In this role, you will play a key part in optimising my client's cost structure by increasing the variable cost base and reducing the fixed components of the company's Cost of Doing Business (CoDB). Your expertise will help enhance operational flexibility and improve the business's ability to adapt to market changes. If this position is something that excites you and you want to make a meaningful impact within a dynamic environment, we'd love to hear from you!Responsibilities:Analyse the current fixed and variable costs of the businessIdentify key fixed costs that can be shifted to a variable modelCollaborate with finance and operations teams to understand cost driversAssess potential risks of transitioning to a more variable cost structureDevelop and assist with the implementation of cost allocation methodsRecommend and implement improvements to financial processes and systemsSet up KPIs to track the effectiveness of cost optimisation effortsMonitor financial performance ensuring intended cost savingsPresent findings and progress reports on cost optimisation efforts to executive managementProvide training and support to other team members on cost accounting principles and best practicesRequirements:Qualified CA(SA) / CIMAAt least 10+ years of experience in a similar positionProject Management experienceStrong financial acumen and excellent understanding of cost structures and analysis within retail, supply chain, IT and support centre costsStrong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgetingTax knowledge of accounting implications would be advantageousUnderstanding of VAS, Money transfers, Bill payments and Insurance as revenue streams would be advantageousProficiency in financial software, MS Office, MS Excel and ERP systemsPlease note if you have not heard from us in 2 weeks from application, please consider yourself unsuccessful - please do continue to follow us online and apply for suitable roles.
