Corporate Secretary

Qualifications : Possession of one of the following qualifications: CIS, B Com (Law), BA (Law), or LLB. A postgraduate degree (e.g., LLM, MBA, or MBL) will be advantageous. Work Experience : 5 to 8 years of experience as a Corporate Secretary. Professional Registration : Membership with a recognized professional body, such as the Corporate Governance Institute of Southern Africa (CGISA). Job-Related Knowledge : Familiarity with the company's policies, procedures, systems, and business operations. Understanding of data and administrative management practices and principles of business and management. Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., the Companies Act) SAP systems Financial concepts for non-financial functions. Key performance areas: Ensure accurate recording of minutes for committee meetings. Oversee the administration and upkeep of the company's and its subsidiaries statutory books and records. Provide guidance to committee members, both collectively and individually, on their roles, duties, and responsibilities. Ensure adherence to the companys corporate governance framework. Maintain quality standards for services delivered to both internal and external clients. Ensure directors are informed of all laws and legislation applicable to the company and its subsidiaries, and be prepared to report at Board of Directors meetings. Conduct thorough research and prepare detailed management reports. Collaborate with the Group Company Secretary and Committee Chairperson to develop committee agendas. Job-Related Skills: Excellent scheduling and time management skills Ability to liaise and engage with both internal and external clients Respect for confidentiality due to nature of work Ability to follow through with initiatives and effective prioritisation Ability to multitask and thrive under work pressure MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Teams Project Management Skills Presentation Skills Preference will be given to candidates with disabilities in line with our Employment Equity Plan.
