Certain companies in the Merchant West Group are licensed and authorised financial services providers.
Merchant West lending products extend to bespoke asset finance (across an extensive range of asset classes), fleet finance, working capital funding, property finance solutions and specialised finance.
Merchant West advisory products extend to investment strategies, private wealth management and treasury solutions.ResponsibilitiesThe core responsibilities of the position are split into four stages – deal management and preparation, deal execution and presentation, post deal implementation and overall input towards credit projects, personal development as well as client visits where needed.Understanding the industry dynamics and market trends relevant to the client's business is essential, adding value to credit committee presentations and discussions.Ensure that credit decisions adhere to the company's credit policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.Based on the analysis, credit analysts make recommendations regarding credit limits, terms, and conditions for extending credit to corporate clients.Conduct thorough due diligence on potential clients to assess their creditworthiness accurately.
This may involve reviewing legal documents, conducting site visits, and obtaining information from third-party sources.Articulate accurately the risk implications of change requests related to previously approved transactions.The responsibilities outlined above provide a comprehensive overview but are not exhaustive.
Additional tasks and responsibilities may be undertaken as necessary to fulfill the requirements of the role.QualificationsBcom degree with Finance and/or Mathematics, Accounting as a subject(s).Post degree qualification could be advantageous.Driver's License (Code 08).Clean Credit Record.ExperienceMinimum 4 years working knowledge of credit risk management within the commercial/corporate sector.Familiar with the National Credit Act.Company CultureWe foster a culture of work-life balance with a dedicated comfortable workspace.
