Role Clarification & Key Performance Areas The University of the Western Cape's Institutional Planning Department invites applications for the position of Coordinator: Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E). The incumbent will be pivotal in managing, analysing, and coordinating the monitoring and evaluation activities related to the University's DHET-funded Sibusiso Bengu Development and other key institutional grants.
The successful candidate will coordinate the collection and management of implementation evidence, facilitate the ongoing improvement of M&E plans, and the gathering of appropriate data to support accurate and timely reporting of information. The incumbent will also support decision-making processes related to monitoring, evaluation, and where applicable, realignment of the Program.
The incumbent will be responsible for: Coordinating and supporting the development of monitoring and evaluation plans for the different components of identified institutional grantsDesigning data collection tools and capturing templatesImplementing quality assurance procedures supporting the Program's monitoring and evaluationData collection and coordination across various projects in the ProgramQuality assurance of the monitoring and evaluation dataCoordinating logistical/administrative arrangements related to dataAnalysis of quantitative and qualitative dataSupport external reportingPrepare internal monitoring and evaluation progress reportsProviding feedback to inform the direction of the scholars' programStaying abreast of the latest monitoring and evaluation trends to support ongoing improvementMinimum Requirements (Qualification and Experience) A Relevant Bachelor's degree at NQF level 7 or an Equivalent Qualification.A minimum of 3 years of recent and relevant work experience in managing monitoring and evaluation processesThe undermentioned would be an added advantage: A postgraduate qualification (NQF level 8) with a focus on Monitoring and EvaluationRequired competencies (skills, knowledge, and behavioral attributes): Strong organisational skills with a keen focus on detailExcellent inter-personal relationship building skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsThe ability to work independently by taking initiative, troubleshooting, and being solutions-focused whilst also being a strong team playerA broad understanding of the South African public higher education sector and key trends in higher education internationallyIn your application, you are encouraged to highlight your strengths and include anything else you deem exceptional and outstanding to be considered by the selection panel.
