Job Title : Technical Surveillance Operator Location : Midrand, Gauteng Overview : We are looking for a highly skilled Technical Surveillance Operator to monitor, analyze, and interpret surveillance data to ensure the safety and security of the facility.
This role is focused on operating advanced security technology, monitoring multiple surveillance systems, and identifying potential risks or suspicious behavior in real time.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and the ability to quickly respond to security threats or breaches, ensuring the safety of personnel and assets.
Key Responsibilities : Surveillance Monitoring: Operate advanced CCTV systems, alarm monitoring devices, and other surveillance equipment to detect and analyze suspicious activities or security breaches.
Incident Identification and Response: Actively monitor live video feeds for unusual or high-risk activity, identify potential security threats, and escalate issues to security teams for immediate intervention.
Data Analysis: Review surveillance footage for investigative purposes, gather relevant data, and provide detailed incident reports to management and law enforcement when necessary.
System Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform routine checks on all surveillance equipment, ensuring all systems are functioning optimally.
Report any malfunctions and liaise with technical teams for repairs.
Collaboration: Coordinate with on-site security teams, emergency personnel, and law enforcement agencies to ensure swift responses to potential threats or incidents.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that surveillance practices adhere to all legal and regulatory requirements, including privacy and data protection laws.
Training: Assist in training other personnel on the proper use of security systems and protocols.
Requirements : PSIRA Grade C registration (or higher).
Proven experience in a technical surveillance or similar role.
Strong understanding of video monitoring technologies, security software, and hardware systems.
Familiarity with data analysis techniques to interpret surveillance data effectively.
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to recognize unusual patterns of behavior.
Ability to react quickly and remain calm under pressure.
Basic IT skills, particularly in system diagnostics and troubleshooting.
Relevant technical certifications in surveillance systems or security technology (advantageous).
