Job Description
This role is responsible for creating synergistic opportunities across OMSA business units and for the effective and efficient use of managed contracts and related services. The incumbent is individually accountable for achieving results through others, over periods of up to a year.The individual in this role will be accountable for: Playing an active role within the OMEM Contracts and Sourcing function within the Customer Service and Technology Business with responsibilities to the Operations Manager. Staying aware of and adhering to all business procurement requirements and challengesImplement category strategy considering innovation, demand management & rationalisation. Building sustainable and compliant relationships with core suppliers and service providersNegotiating new or renewal of existing procurement contracts with external and internal suppliers and have an understanding of B-BBEE codes.Monitoring and reporting on procurement contract delivery against contract performance levelsUse procurement analytics to identify gaps and opportunities for savings and transformation and provide stakeholders with information to improve compliance relating to procurement contracts, including invoice verification, cost saving and cost avoidance measurements, budgeting etc.Ensuring accurate recording of procurement contracts – e.g. value, service description, term, notice period, alert periods (dates) in the relevant contract administration systems.Perform, manage and drive to conclusion supplier sourcing, formal selection through RFI, RFQ and RFP processes, contract negotiation, procurement contract development and drafting.Managing daily workflow of procurement contracts under administration. Aligning own actions and decisions to the OMEM sourcing strategy.Balance own priorities with directing and guiding others to achieve operational excellence and stay abreast of all relevant legal requirements, regulatory expectations, OMEM governances and organization policies. Manage and lead a team of buyers and contracts managers.Adhering to OMEM Contract GovernanceKey result areas:
Perform, manage and drive to conclusion supplier sourcing, formal selection through RFI RFQ and RFP processes, contract negotiation, procurement contract development and drafting.Negotiate procurement contracts including Master Services, Service, Supply, SLA, MoU's, etc, with suppliersEnsure timeous renewal and renegotiation of existing procurement contractsRemain aware of all relevant legal requirements, regulatory expectations, OMEM governances and organization policiesHighlight non-compliance to issues relating to procurement contractsManage and drive stakeholder input to procurement contracts including legal, finance and any other required function.Support stakeholder financial administration relating to procurement contracts, including invoice verification, cost saving measurements, cost avoidance measurements, budgeting etc.Provide a contract administration capability for broader OM global territories.Regularly interact and engage with Suppliers to stay aware of the latest industry trends and developments in order to identify issues and risks as well as to increase own subject matter expertiseCreate the necessary control systems and structures against which to measure supplier performanceUphold and demonstrate the Old Mutual values and core principlesJob Requirements:
A relevant 3 year tertiary qualification is requiredA proven track record of at least 5 years relevant procurement management or procurement contracts development and contract management experienceGood business understanding with line manager ability to manage a small team.Strong experience in liaising with suppliers in terms of service, negotiating skills, procurement contracts and future direction of servicesAbility to develop process controls to mitigate risk and ensure governance to policy.Strong demonstrated procurement and contractual commercial abilityDisplays knowledge of internal procurement requirements and group procurement policiesProven experience in reviewing and interpreting procurement requirementsSkills Education Closing Date
