Contracts Quantity Surveyor (Construction Company)

Job Description Are you a detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor with a passion for managing construction costs and ensuring project success?
Our client is seeking a Contracts QS to join their dynamic team and play a pivotal role in overseeing financial and contractual aspects of our construction projects.
Key Responsibilities As a Contracts QS, your duties will include: Cost Management : Manage and control all project costs from inception to completion.
Subcontractor Payments : Review claims and prepare monthly payment advices.
Liaise with the Accounts Department for processing.
Labour Contractor Payments : Measure and meet with Labour-Only Contractors on-site.
Process fortnightly payment advices.
Wage Control : Control and reconcile fortnightly company wage costs.
Material Quantities : Calculate material quantities and costs, ensuring alignment between BOQ (Bill of Quantities), tender documents, and construction drawings.
Identify gaps and discrepancies between documents.
Mini BOQs : Prepare and submit ad-hoc mini BOQs/estimates to client representatives for approval.
Profit & Loss : Compile monthly P&L accounts for contracts meetings at the head office.
Contract Documentation : Prepare subcontractor/creditor contracts and purchase orders.
Ensure all documents are signed and issued timely.
Contract Claims : Prepare and submit monthly contract claims/valuations.
Liaise with client representatives and the Accounts Department for payment certificates, tax invoices, and variation costs.
Meetings : Attend contracts, P&L, and project site meetings to ensure alignment on project goals and progress.
Requirements Qualifications & Skills Experience : 5-8 years of permanent QS experience in the construction industry.
Education : QS Diploma (minimum) or Technicon QS Degree (advantageous).
Technical Expertise : Proficiency in CCS and Excel.
In-depth knowledge of the construction industry, building sequences, and detailing.
Competencies : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to engage constructively with diverse stakeholders.
