Administer the contractual and commercial aspects from the preparation of tenders and letting of contracts through to dealing with claims, ensuring that cash flow is managed effectively and that budgets and forecasts are maintained.
Assist the Project Manager and Construction Manager in all commercial and contractual matters.ResponsibilitiesPrepare and issue requests for tender.Evaluate, negotiate and award contracts.Prepare and issue contract documents.Implement and maintain project contract control systems and procedures.Verify interim monthly progress certificates from contractors.Manage and report change control.Issue all contractual notifications.Ensure control of back charges.Evaluate, negotiate and resolve contractor claims.Update projected contract completion costs.Attend site inspections, kick-off, and project progress meetings.Ensure control of site instructions.Compile and issue contract amendments.Keep the cost project control system up to date.Other duties as assigned by the Construction Manager.Maintain all Control Registers.Address any other contractual and commercial issues that may arise.Ensure compliance and communicate with H/O cost control.QualificationsQualifications:A tertiary qualification in a Commercial or Quantity Surveying field.Knowledge, Skills and Experience:Minimum of 5 years' experience in Contract Administration.Experience with NEC, FIDIC, and bespoke forms of contract.Experience in an EPCM environment.Experience in evaluating, negotiating, and awarding contracts.Good computer literacy skills in MS Office and Excel.Working knowledge of MS Project would be advantageous but not a requirement.Excellent English language skills, both verbal and written.Experience in managing contractual progress and claims for contractors in a stringent manner.Ability to travel locally and/or internationally as required.High level of people and communication skills.Experience in other commercial fields such as Quantity Surveying.Personal Attributes:Ability to communicate verbally in a clear and convincing manner.Ability to express oneself clearly in written communication.Clear logical thinker.Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and balance multiple priorities/demands.Good attention to detail and ability to facilitate appropriate information sharing among the team.High level of personal and professional integrity and trustworthiness.Contribute to the overall efficiency of contract execution.About UsWood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, helping to unlock solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
