The purpose of this role is to support the line functions with statistical process control and data analysis insights, which are directed at identifying, integrating, and delivering business-critical projects and improving overall systems and processes.Job DescriptionAs our Continuous Improvement Advisor, some of your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Adhere to and execute all Safety, Health and environmental practices as applicable per the role (safety initiatives, house-keeping, Management VFL's, etc.).Assist in identifying, prioritising, and implementing improvement projects based on sound continuous improvement, including operating model feedback and A&I principles.Conduct Level 1-2 metric and root cause analysis required to support operational managers in making critical decisions about potential business benefits and tradeoffs for various interdependent initiatives.Assist with coaching line management in key continuous improvement concepts, including operating model feedback and A&I principles.Assist with developing training material customised for local circumstances yet utilising concepts and material consistent with operating model Feedback and A&I principles.Provide continuous improvement advice and support to the line to deliver practical improvement projects by identifying appropriate areas of improvement through data analysis; to assist with setting up and implementing improvement projects; to identify key stakeholders and resources for projects; to implement and track KPI's related to each project.Incumbent will assist and provide guidance with data collection, analysis, interpretation, reporting and review of actions as well as all adhoc reports and requests.Incumbent to ensure overall system and process optimisation with the assistance of the CI Specialist.Identify potential actions in response to the outcome of the analysis.Coach Line Managers and other stakeholders on operating model Feedback and A&I principles.Support key stakeholders to the Set Production and Set Service Strategy processes regarding data analysis, trends, interpretation of data and reporting on findings.Participate in AAOM Audits and Reviews.Provide support required by the CI Specialists to deliver business targets.Incumbent to have a clear understanding of the line of operating model Feedback and A&I concepts.To ensure Line managers receive quality continuous improvement advice and support to make critical business decisions successfully and implement improvement projects/initiatives.Carry out routine data analysis, interpretation, and provide guidance on agreed production areas.Facilitation of discrete improvement projects, start to finish, including change management and sustainability.Will be responsible to mentor and coach upcoming and new PIT's.QualificationsNational Diploma in (e.g. Mining, Processing, Geoscience, Industrial Engineering, etc.) on NQF6SA Drivers LicenceAdvantageousB. Tech or Bachelor's degree (e.g. Mining, Processing, Geoscience, Industrial Engineering, etc.) or equivalent (NQF7)Lean, 6 Sigma.Project ManagementPowerBI or Tableau competencyTechnical Knowledge3 years relevant experience.Advanced knowledge of Anglo American Operating model (esp. Feedback process).Advanced knowledge of mining (preferably open pit), processing or engineering industry.Advanced knowledge of key value drivers across the mining value chain and the interdependence therein.Advanced Computer Literacy (MS Office, Projects, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).Knowledge of Mathematical and Statistical skills to help gather, measure, organise and analyse data.Knowledge of the mining industry and relevant legislation, including the Mine Health and Safety Act.Knowledge of basic financial metrics, cost, value management & budgeting tools.Experience in identifying and implementing business improvement opportunities and projects at mines.Experience in applying Project management fundamentals.
