The role:
The Content & Digital Marketing Executive will develop, implement, and manage social media and community engagement strategies that align with the company's brand, mission, and business goals. This role will oversee the creation and sharing of content, monitor social media channels, respond to community interactions, and build online engagement strategies with expertise in video production using smart mobile devices. A deep understanding of the South African market and digital trends is essential.
As a Content & Digital Marketing Executive, you will play an integral role in developing successful, long-term relationships and managing the company image internally and externally using social media influence.
Key Responsibilities:
Social Media Strategy Development & Execution:
Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.).
Identify target audiences and optimize strategies to increase engagement, followers, and reach.
Collaborate with the Marketing team to ensure campaigns align with broader marketing efforts.
Content Creation & Curation:
Develop visually compelling and engaging video content using mobile devices for platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook.
Create, edit, and schedule content that is engaging, on-brand, and optimized for specific platforms.
Manage a content calendar that balances promotional, educational, and community-centric posts.
Ensure content is engaging, relevant, and aligned with the company's brand voice and messaging and speaks to our retailers, distributors, and manufacturers.
Social Media Management:
Oversee the company's social media presence, creating and scheduling posts that drive engagement and brand awareness.
Monitor social media channels for customer inquiries and feedback.
Brand Voice & Consistency:
Ensure that all communications and social media efforts reflect the brand's voice and personality.
Develop and enforce community guidelines and ensure adherence to company policies and social media regulations.
Community Engagement & Management:
Monitor all social media platforms, responding to comments, questions, and messages in a timely and brand-appropriate manner.
Foster and grow an online community by engaging followers and developing creative initiatives to keep users active.
Manage relationships with influencers, brand ambassadors, and user-generated content contributors.
Collaboration & Campaigns:
Work closely with the marketing and content teams to develop integrated campaigns that utilize both organic and paid social media.
Partner with internal teams (e.g., customer service, product) to provide insights into customer feedback or issues highlighted on social media.
Crisis Management:
Respond to and manage any online crises or negative feedback in a professional and timely manner.
Prepare contingency plans for potential negative press or backlash online.
Trend Monitoring & Innovation:
Stay up to date on the latest digital and social media trends, tools, and best practices, adapting strategies as needed.
Proactively suggest new ideas and innovative ways to engage with the online community.
Social Listening & Analytics:
Use social listening tools to monitor brand mentions and conversations relevant to Red101, RedPay, and Digital Payments.
Track, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including engagement, reach, and conversion metrics.
Provide recommendations for improvements based on data insights and performance.
Email Marketing:
Design and implement email marketing campaigns to nurture leads and engage existing customers.
Segment email lists and personalize communications to maximize effectiveness.
Analytics and Reporting:
Track and analyze the performance of digital marketing campaigns using tools like Google Analytics and other marketing software.
Prepare regular reports on campaign performance, website traffic, and lead generation.
Lead Generation:
Develop and execute strategies to generate and nurture leads through various digital channels.
Work closely with the sales team to ensure leads are effectively followed up and converted.
Key Requirements:
Minimum 3-5 years of experience managing social media accounts and online communities.
Proven track record of developing and executing successful social media strategies.
Experience with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social).
Experience in the South African market is preferred, with an understanding of the local social media landscape.
Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong knowledge of social media platforms, best practices, and analytics tools.
Creativity and a passion for engaging with online communities.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
Knowledge of SEO, SEM, and online marketing strategies is a plus.

A proactive, self-starter with the ability to work independently and within a team.
Ability to work under pressure and in fast-paced environments.
Problem-solving skills and quick thinking, especially when handling online crises.

First Class Salary
