CONSTRUCTION SITE MANAGER

This opportunity is available for a technical orientated individual with experience in the Construction Industry. Reporting to the General Manager: Engineering, you will perform duties at one of our Packing Divisions in the Grabouw area and work closely with the appointed project team, consultants and contractors. Services will be required for the construction of new Controlled Atmosphere rooms at the Molteno site for an estimated construction period of 8 months, and one month following the practical completion of the project.

Responsibilities:
• Supervising and overseeing the direction of the project, ensuring that the client's specifications and requirements are met and reviewing progress
• Keep the project team updated and informed on a daily basis regarding progress
• Ensure adherence to Occupational Health and Safety regulations
• Manage activities that could impact the environment
• Implement Environmental guidelines (documentation and support from the appointed ECO)
• Manage and control site access and report incidents
• Record site activities, personnel and equipment on site on a daily basis
• Report and act on unsafe practices immediately to the appointed H&S Officer
• Check, measure and observe activities as requested by the project team
• Record and verify quantities measured on site
• Attend and participate at site meetings

Requirements:
• Construction management
• B.Eng, B.Tech, National Diploma or similar in Built Environment
• 10+ years Practical experience in Civil and Structural Engineering disciplines and the construction of buildings
• Interpret drawings and diagrams
• Experience with the construction of CA rooms or other cold storage advantageous
• Organising and planning skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Highly skilled in Microsoft office
• Attention to detail
