Construction Accountant

A prominent player in the renewable energy industry seeks a Construction Accountant to oversee critical financial operations for innovative solar PV, wind, and battery storage projects across South Africa. This role presents an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented finance professional who is passionate about renewable energy and has experience in construction project accounting. The ideal incumbent will have strong capabilities in financial tracking, reporting, and compliance management, with the potential for expanded responsibilities as the portfolio grows.Responsibilities:Manage all financial aspects of construction projectsMaintain accurate cost accounting recordsPrepare and present monthly financial reports related to ongoing construction projectsAssist in the preparation of project budgetsTrack project costs against approved budgetsDevelop and maintain financial forecasts for construction projectsOnboard all project and internal suppliers on the COUPA P2P systemSet up all Purchase Requisitions on COUPA P2PMaintain construction payment tracker, receipt, and match construction invoices to approved Purchase OrdersReceipt and match invoices from suppliers related to internal activitiesReconcile construction site credit cards on COUPA ExpensesEnsure timely and accurate payment of invoicesReconcile construction-related accountsContribute to the monthly Project Co Utilization Request process and monthly EPC Co Application for Payment processSupport the finance team in reviewing and managing contracts for construction projectsMonitor compliance with contract terms
