This pivotal role requires an individual with extensive experience and a profound understanding of SAFEX and Grain trading. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement robust compliance policies and procedures in alignment with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Monitor and assess compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and exchange rules governing grain trading activities. Conduct risk assessments to identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential risks across trading operations. Provide expert guidance and support to trading teams on compliance matters, ensuring adherence to established protocols. Manage regulatory reporting obligations, including SAFEX reporting requirements, and ensure timely submission of accurate data. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance risk management frameworks and strengthen internal controls. Stay abreast of regulatory developments, industry trends, and best practices to inform compliance strategies and initiatives. Serve as a liaison with regulatory authorities, exchanges, and external auditors as needed. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a grain trading SAFEX environment. Successful completion of the SAFEX examination. Proven track record in compliance management and risk assessment within the commodity trading industry. Thorough understanding of exchange rules, regulatory requirements, and best practices governing grain trading. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to assess complex risk scenarios and implement effective mitigation strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and influence stakeholders at all levels. Proficiency in relevant software and systems used in compliance monitoring and reporting.
