Compliance Officer (Half-Day)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Compliance Officer to join our client's team in Pietermaritzburg on a half-day basis. Position: Compliance Officer Location: Pietermaritzburg Hours: Half-Day Role Overview: As a Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining compliance programs to ensure our client meets all relevant laws and regulations. You will play a key role in monitoring compliance, conducting audits, and providing guidance across the organization. Key Responsibilities: Compliance Programs: Develop and maintain compliance programs, policies, and procedures. Regulatory Monitoring: Stay updated on regulatory changes and assess potential compliance issues. Risk Assessments: Conduct risk assessments and audits to improve controls and address compliance gaps. Investigations: Investigate non-compliance issues, fraud, and unethical behaviour, recommending corrective actions. Employee Guidance: Advise employees on compliance matters and ethical standards. Training: Create and deliver training programs to educate staff on compliance responsibilities. Collaboration: Work with various departments to address and resolve compliance issues. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, including audits and investigations. Regulatory Liaison: Communicate with regulatory authorities and stay informed on best practices. Reporting: Prepare and submit regulatory filings, reports, and disclosures. Compliance Metrics: Track compliance metrics and KPIs to evaluate program effectiveness. Due Diligence: Review third-party vendors for compliance with contracts and regulations. Marketing Review: Ensure marketing materials meet regulatory requirements and company policies. Culture Promotion: Foster a culture of integrity and accountability within the organization. Requirements: Strong administrative skills with meticulous attention to detail. Previous experience in a compliance role is required. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
