The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing, collating, processing, and reporting all information required by EPR regulations.
Additionally, the successful candidate will assist the Financial Manager with general matters as needed.Key Responsibilities:Processing membership applicationsResponding to membership queriesCompleting onboarding forms for members in their systemsUpdating membership details on the Company's system and registerAssisting with invoicing and debtors management for membersFollowing up on member glass tonnage declarationsCapturing tonnage data on the Company systemPreparing reports for managementConducting reasonability checks on members' volumesSupporting the Financial Manager with monthly management accountsReconciling tonnages collected and recycled for reporting to the DFFEPreparing interim and annual reports for the DFFELiaising with the company auditors for EPR auditsDeveloping and maintaining a system for collecting extended producer responsibility feesPreparing all information required for biannual auditsConducting internal biannual financial audits and making audit reports available to the department upon requestSubmitting internal audit reports to the external auditor and to the DFFE timeouslyWorking with the Financial Manager to appoint an independent auditor for an annual external audit of the financial records and other information required by EPR regulationsIncluding internal audit findings in the annual audit reportSubmitting the annual audit report to the Department within 60 days after finalization, ensuring it is uploaded onto the South African Waste Information Centre (SAWIC) for public accessDeveloping and maintaining a register of all membersCollecting, recording, managing, and submitting data to the South African Waste Information System in compliance with regulation 8 of the EPR RegulationsMaintaining records of the quantity of identified productsManaging a system for compensating reclaimers, paying transport subsidies, and making payments to third parties for servicing glass banks and wheelie binsPersonal Attributes and Skills:AnalyticalIndependent thinking and decision-makingStrong presentation skillsExcellent communication skills (verbal and written) in EnglishAdvanced computer literacy (Microsoft Word/Excel)Strong accounting knowledgeAttention to detail and accuracyAbility to meet deadlinesAbility to recognize errors in data providedEducation and Experience:Matric/Grade 12 with Mathematics (Essential)Minimum of 2 years in a finance-related roleBCom or equivalent tertiary qualification (Finance and Accounting modules would be advantageous)Proven experience in performing reconciliations within finance
