Description Content management Ensure that all communication messages to be sent out are aligned with the communications strategy. Deliver communication content, as required, by setting up relevant engagements i.e. media releases, stakeholder engagements, speeches, boilerplates etc. in order to achieve stipulated objectives. Ensure message output and content is of a high quality and standard i.e. no grammatical and spelling errors and written with the specific target audience in mind. Partner with stakeholders to develop appropriate message framework for the specific messages, aligned with the EPPF's strategy in the implementation of change communication. Research the internal and external environment (legislative changes, organisational culture, industry trends etc.) and collaborate with key internal stakeholders to advise on appropriate positioning of messaging. Edit and contribute to all formal and informal publications (newsletters, annual report, member guide etc.), Roll out change communication plans, in line with best practice as directed by Head of Communications.
Internal communications Utilise internal communication processes and channels within the business to improve the flow of information and the effectiveness of communication (including adherence to compliance communication). Develop and/or streamline internal communications processes, making recommendations for improvement to relevant stakeholders and assisting in the implementation. Recommend new and creative ways to facilitate top-down and bottom-up communication.
Media relations and other external communications Support the Head of Communication with Crisis Management by working with media/crisis management agencies in the management and/or prevention of crises. Support the Head of Communication with external communications requirements/projects Arrange media and crisis communication training with service providers for appointed spokespeople and front office staff, as required. Support on strategic positioning of all company messaging to external stakeholders (media, stakeholders, public) in order to promote the correct brand image. Leverage platforms to maximise exposure for the organisation (e.g. identify and suggest speaker opportunities, content planning and messaging for conferences and other public forums). Draft media responses in consultation with relevant subject matter expert(s).
Provide input to the management of the section Assist the Communication Manager in the compilation of comprehensive business reports for this function Support implementation of processes and procedures that are relevant to the section and enhance service delivery.
Requirements TECHNICAL COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS In depth knowledge of brand management, public relations, marketing and integrated communication strategies (internal and external) using traditional and digital media channels Insight into CRM and customer centricity principles Analytical skills Familiarity with Pension Fund industry and trends Reputation and crisis management skills Project management skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Skilled in working with visual communication software and presentation packages
REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION/TRAINING Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications or related discipline
REQUIRED MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE 5 years job-related experience and relevant experience (preferably in a corporate communication role or a communications agency).
