The Engineering Student Recruitment & Outreach Office (ESROO) promotes interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) and is the first point of contact for students and their families interested in pursuing an education at Canada's top engineering school. Our team designs and delivers innovative pre-university outreach programs offered by the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering and builds awareness of the different areas of engineering and their societal roles. The dynamic team shares information on the faculty's world-leading programs, supports prospective students and their families throughout the application and admissions cycle, and facilitates a smooth transition into the Engineering program.
Your opportunity:
Working under the general direction of the Associate Registrar & Director, ESROO, the incumbent is responsible for developing and executing marketing plans that align with the organization's strategic goals, focusing on promoting programs, events, and initiatives. This role involves strengthening brand profiles and advising on marketing best practices. The individual will foster strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective coordination of marketing activities. Additionally, the Communications Officer, ESROO will provide guidance on social media trends and platforms to enhance digital communication strategies and monitor digital marketing performance to ensure ongoing return on investment (ROI). Market research and analysis will inform marketing decisions, with an emphasis on designing and interpreting surveys, and overseeing focus groups.
The role also includes overseeing marketing project plans, consulting with internal partners to define project scope and resources, and managing cost estimates. The incumbent will create promotional and outreach materials to promote key initiatives, collaborating with vendors on marketing material creation to ensure timely execution.
Your responsibilities will include: Implementing digital communication plans across a broad range of marketing/communication channels.Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners.Analyzing metrics to identify trends.Liaising with colleagues to ensure consistent messaging.Producing promotional and outreach materials.Supporting communications needs for outreach and recruitment activities.Analyzing the effectiveness of campaigns using metrics.Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in relevant field such as Communications, Web Development, or Multimedia Design & Production, or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum five years of relevant experience in communications including producing print and web-based marketing materials, and social media.Experience with the development and delivery of persuasive informational presentations.Experience conducting photography and/or videography shoots.Experience with web content management systems, such as WordPress.Advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, Windows, Keynote, Prezi, and Basecamp), and experience with HTML, CSS, Dreamweaver, Adobe Creative Suite.Advanced writing skills, including knowledge of best practices for writing content for the web and social media.Strong content creation skills and the ability to conceptualize and execute communications campaigns.Experience in constituent/customer relationship management (CRM) systems.Excellent written and oral communications skills, with advanced public speaking abilities.Advanced project coordination, organizational, and time management skills.Ability to work independently and as a team member, eliciting cooperation from a variety of sources.Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail in a high-volume environment.Proven ability to exercise judgment, tact, diplomacy, confidentiality, and initiative.Commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and the promotion of a respectful and collegial environment.Assets (Nonessential): Experience and working knowledge of University of Toronto policy and procedures related to student recruitment and admissions.To be successful in this role you will be: AccountableApproachableMulti-taskerOrganizedTeam playerClosing Date: 12/03/2024, 11:59PM ET
