Deadline for Applications - 4th Oct, 2024 We are seeking a dynamic Communications Advisor to join our team at IETA and play a pivotal role in developing and implementing strategic communication initiatives for our organisation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in communications, public relations, events, and stakeholder engagement, enabling them to effectively promote the work and vision of IETA on a global scale.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement comprehensive communication strategies and outreach plans for IETA to enhance visibility and engagement.Take the lead in crafting communication plans to advocate for IETA's positions and initiatives.Manage communications for events that showcase the work and vision of IETA on an international platform.Oversee and enhance IETA's digital presence to increase outreach and impact across corporate websites and social media.Engage with key stakeholders, IETA members, and public opinion leaders to effectively promote organisational objectives.Develop, write, and create publications and newsletters to ensure consistent and informative communication with stakeholders.Produce articles, press releases, and other content that promote the work of IETA.Support responses to media inquiries and identify effective media opportunities to promote organisational objectives.Coordinate communication efforts with various relevant Working Groups within the organisation.Act as a brand ambassador, championing the IETA name and mission in all communication efforts to elevate our organisation's visibility and impact.Undertake additional responsibilities as required to support the Communications team.Skills and ExperienceA minimum of 5 years' experience in developing and implementing communication strategies within a similar organisational setting.Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for different audiences.Proficiency in managing social media platforms and website content management systems.Proven design ability and experience using design and video editing software to create visually engaging communications materials.Experience in stakeholder engagement, media relations, and public outreach.Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.An interest in environmental sustainability and a willingness to contribute to the organisation's mission.A degree in Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.Package and LocationThe package will be commensurate with experience.
This position is UK or SA based. The role offers remote working, but some travel to events will be required.
