The hotel is complemented with direct access to the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre (MCEC), the Southern Hemisphere's largest meeting space, and is adjacent to the DFO centre, with 180+ retail brands.Job DescriptionWhat you'll be doing:Food preparation for breakfast, lunch, dinner, room service, functions, and buffet service.Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment while ensuring a product of high quality and presentation standards.Ensure strict stock rotation and minimum wastage. Have stock control procedures implemented and maintained.Keep all working areas clean and tidy. Ensure all equipment is maintained, serviced, and cleaned.Ensure all food produced is in line with kitchen recipes and standards.Check all food is stored and handled correctly as per current food health and hygiene regulations.Monitor daily kitchen food and product requirements and advise the supervisor of these well in advance.Assist and liaise with the chef on duty as required.QualificationsWhat we're looking for:Commercial Cookery Qualification – Cert III or IV is preferred.Previous experience in the hotel industry.Familiar with Food Safety and WHS legislation.Service-oriented with an eye for detail.Ability to work independently and demonstrated initiative in a dynamic environment.Time management skills with the ability to multitask.Availability to work a flexible roster, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.Additional InformationWhy Work for Accor?We are far more than a worldwide leader.
