O ur leading FMCG manufacturing client is seeking a Commercial Manager in their Supply Chain team, reporting to the Supply Chain Executive.
The successful candidate will be required to perform the following:
Supply Chain Planning & Strategy Management of working capital investment in stock: Ensure alignment with company parameters, including managing slow-moving and dead stock. Finished goods planning: Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to avoid stock outs and short supplies. Raw material inventory management: Ensure the availability of the right amount at the right time to minimize working capital impact. Implement Just-in-Time principles: Drive continuous improvements to eliminate waste and streamline processes. Procurement and Vendor Management Supplier assessments: Ensure quality, cost, and delivery requirements are met. Supplier contract management: Negotiate contracts, Service Level Agreements, MOUs, and leases. Cost and savings projects: Drive organizational cost and savings projects across the supply chain. Risk identification and management: Mitigate risks in purchasing and production planning departments. Supplier diversification: Reduce dependency on single sources where practical. ISO 9001/FSSC22000 adherence: Monitor compliance with supply chain procedures across the group and suppliers where relevant. Data Analysis Process optimization: Identify patterns and trends to improve overall efficiency. Performance metrics: Monitor and analyze metrics such as inventory turnover, supplier on-time delivery, and lead times. Identify opportunities for improvement and implement corrective actions. Market trends and industry developments: Stay updated on best practices and innovations to drive continuous improvement. Leadership & Training Cross-functional leadership: Lead teams and projects, driving process improvements, system implementations, and change management initiatives. Team development: Provide leadership and mentorship, fostering a culture of continuous learning and collaboration. Training material development: Create and develop training materials to train relevant parts of the business. Qualifications and Experience To be considered for this position, applicants should meet the following criteria:
Educational background: CIMA qualification or BCom Honours Degree in Finance or Supply Chain Management. Experience: At least 4-5 years in a commercial supply chain role and at least 3 years in a management role. Technical skills: Proficiency with SAP is advantageous. Strong planning and organizing skills. Ability to influence others. Problem-solving capability. Enthusiastic, positive, and self-energized attitude.
