Requirements:
Degree in Financial Management - relevantSome relevant professional diploma/certificationMinimum 5 years plus work experience in a financial management roleExcellent computer skills: Pastel / Pastel Evolution / SAGE / SAP or relevantLeadership abilitiesResponsibilities:
Assist the board of directors in the development of company policyReport monthly, quarterly and annually ensuring timeous and meaningful production of financial resultsProvide Directors with meaningful management informationIntroduce and maintain cost awareness and effectivenessAssist Directors in the definition of company financial objectives and strategiesInstitute effective control systems and monitor that they are maintained and complied with to maintain security over company assets, that all liabilities of the company have been properly brought to account and income and expenditure are properly recordedEnsure development of relevant accounting policiesAssist Director in the determination of budget parameters and provide guidelines with economic indicatorsEnsure that annual budgets are produced in sufficient detail to allow monthly comparison with actualsProduce quarterly profit forecasts with variance reporting against budget, in sufficient detail for meaningful interpretationMaintain a system of cash management for maximization of investment income and security of company fundsAttend to the financial aspects of any business transactions involving foreign currency that may ariseEnsure compliance with capital expenditure policies and proceduresEnforce strick credit controlEnsure the assets of the company are protected by adequate insurance and attend to the processing of insurance claimsMaintain the fixed asset register Ensure that the activities of the Group comply with the Memorandum and Articles of Association and the Companies ActWherever directed by the Managing Director, seek legal advice on relevant company mattersManage the development and operation of the company's computer systemSupervise the development and acquisition of new softwareReview hardware requirements and where necessary assist in acquiring new equipmentAdvise on organization structure and alternativesAdvise on reorganization and reconstruction proposalsLiaison with statutory bodies/specialists Liaise where and when necessary with auditors, attorneys and consultants, Receiver or RevenueIn association with auditors, attorneys and/or consultants, minimize tax exposure and maximize tax efficiencyCompile and maintain statistical records and complete government and other statistical returnsParticipate in company projects as required and work closely with the MD to ensure smooth and efficient the information requirements of Director and provide such information wherever relevantMaximise delegation of duties and responsibilities as far as possible running of the businessConduct internal audits of company operations, systems compliance, key resources, cost elements and strategic assets and report to the Director on findingsAnticipate the information requirements of Director and provide such information wherever relevantMaximise delegation of duties and responsibilities as far as possible without diminishing the quality of performance of these dutiesAssist with staff personnel issues and structures where required to ensure a motivated, conscientious and dynamic work forceAd hoc activities that may be required to ensure smooth commercial and financial running of the businessAdd value to the team and company with your skillset, experience and management style.
