Key ResponsibilitiesCloud Infrastructure ManagementAssist in the design, deployment, and management of AWS cloud infrastructure and services.Monitor cloud environments for performance, security, and compliance, implementing necessary changes to optimize operations.Ensure cloud resources are properly configured, cost-effective, and aligned with the university's objectives.Technical SupportProvide technical support and troubleshooting for AWS services, addressing issues related to performance, security, and connectivity.Collaborate with IT teams to resolve cloud-related incidents and implement solutions to prevent future occurrences.Document and maintain records of incidents, resolutions, and configurations.Cloud Operations OptimizationAnalyze cloud usage and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and cost optimization.Implement best practices for cloud resource management, ensuring efficient utilization of AWS services.Assist in capacity planning and resource allocation to meet current and future demands.Security and ComplianceSupport the implementation of cloud security measures and policies to protect university data and resources in the AWS environment.Conduct regular audits of cloud services to ensure compliance with university policies and regulatory requirements.Collaborate with the Information Security team to address any security vulnerabilities identified within the cloud infrastructure.Collaboration & CommunicationWork closely with cross-functional teams to understand their cloud needs and provide solutions that support their objectives.Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding cloud initiatives, updates, and challenges.Provide training and support to staff on AWS tools and services as needed.Documentation and ReportingMaintain comprehensive documentation related to AWS configurations, processes, and operational procedures.Prepare reports on cloud usage, performance metrics, and optimization efforts for management review.Contribute to the development and maintenance of cloud governance and operational guidelines.Qualifications and ExperienceBachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.1-3 years of experience working with AWS cloud services or related cloud technologies.Familiarity with cloud computing concepts, AWS services, and best practices.Understanding of networking, security, and compliance in a cloud environment.Skills and CompetenciesStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex cloud issues.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Proficient in AWS management tools and monitoring solutions.A collaborative team player with a proactive approach to learning and professional development.Additional RequirementsAWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification or similar is preferred.Experience with automation tools and scripting (e.g., Python, Bash) is a plus.Willingness to work flexible hours as needed to support cloud operations.Contract Details1-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension based on performance and project needs.
