What will you do? You will be surrounded with hardworking people who are passionate about cloud and software engineering, and believe that world-class support is critical to customer success. You will have the chance to help DevOps teams take their existing applications to the Cloud and build new solutions using cloud native technologies. As a Cloud Platform Engineer with software engineering and IT ops background, you will provide technical leadership and build out services for a specific set of business IT customers who will consume these services as they build high-demand applications utilising cloud technologies. You will be at the forefront of Cloud technologies with interactions with the full breadth of cloud services. Additionally, a lot of value is placed on security competence during these interactions. As a member of a team you will be tasked with assisting in establishing a market leading cloud competency and will have the opportunities to learn from other but will also be required to support those same team members even if they are in different roles.
What will make you successful in this role? Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge and experience working with AWS and Azure. Automation: Experience working with DevOps tools such as GitHub and creating CI/CD pipelines. Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency in building and managing infrastructure at scale using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi, etc. Software Engineering: Working experience as a software engineer. Understanding of different software architecture patterns such as Microservices, Event-Driven Design, and others. Adaptability and Continuous Learning: Passionate about learning new skills and acquiring new certifications. Collaboration: The ability to work with others to achieve goals for self and for the team. Customer Mindset: Putting the customer first and focusing on deeply understanding customer needs.
Qualifactions and Experience Qualifications: Matric Certificate A Valid Cloud Certification (Professional/Expert Level) Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or equivalent
Experience: At least 5 years' experience in software engineering At least 3 years architecting and building cloud solutions
Working knowledge of: Software development languages (Java, Python, JavaScript) Software engineering design patterns Cloud native technologies (Serverless, Containers, etc) IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation) Container Orchestration Platforms (Kubernetes, ECS) Networking fundmentals Security fundamentals Software architectures
