Our client in the medical industry has a vacancy available for a "Clinical Technologist". Position is based in Vereeniging. Salary: Market Related.DutiesEnsure optimal patient dialysis for each day.Machines are to be primed on patient arrival.Undertake a comprehensive and accurate nursing assessment on patient arrival for dialysis regarding vital data, pre and post weights and clinical appearance.Contribute to care planning, involving patients and demonstrates an understanding of patients' rights to make informed treatment decisions.Ensure documentation is current, accurate, and timely. Maintain confidentiality with a legal and ethical framework relating to patient care.Ensure that medication is administered as prescribed by the doctorEvaluate patient's progress toward expected outcomes, including treatments and health education, in collaboration with the patient and health care team.Take appropriate nursing actions in emergency situations and other situations that may compromise patient safety.Contribute, support and teach colleagues to enhance professional developmentEnsure each patient feel comfortable with the process at all times.Ensure that all pre and post observations are conducted and recordeTake bloods according to SOP as per monthly requirement, Dr's request/ prescriptionDocument observations on an hourly basis. (if patient is unstable or not well half hourly)Ensure that the patient is satisfied with the treatment they have received before they leave.Ensure that the machines are cleaned and sterilised after completion of each treatment and before another treatment begins (as per protocol).RequirementsCurrent registration with HPCSA as a Graduate Clinical Technologist in Nephrology2 years as clinical technologistPatient (and family) education in treatment for kidney failureBasic administrationDesired SkillsClinical TechnologistNephrologyKidney failure
