The main purpose of this role is to provide high nursing quality and deliver excellent youth-friendly services at our adolescent clinic, based within a Health Park providing a space for sport and physical activity, education regarding healthy eating, and mental health support. The clinic serves adolescents 12-29 years, predominantly providing SRH and HIV prevention and treatment services, as well as general primary health care for those 12 years and older.Minimum Requirements:A degree or diploma qualification in Nursing (General, Community, Psychiatry)Active registration as a Professional Nurse with the South African Nursing CouncilClinical Assessment, Treatment and Care Qualification (PHC Nurse Clinician)At least 5 years of nursing experienceAt least 1-2 years of staff managementAt least 2-5 years of Nursing experience in a primary healthcare clinicSexual and reproductive health trained, inclusive of Implant insertion and removal certificateFamiliar with latest STI, SRH, PrEP, HIV Management and TB guidelinesExperience working with adolescentsComputer literacy with sound knowledge of email, Excel, word processing, and internetExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsGood report writing skillsAbility to work well under pressure and to maintain effectiveness during changing conditionsAbility to work harmoniously with youth of diverse backgroundsClient focusedAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to foster a collaborative relationship with local clinics and hospitalsMust be detail orientedStrong organizational skills, including time management and multi-tasking skillsAdministration skillsMaintaining strict client confidentialityWillingness and ability to work youth-friendly hoursAdvantageous:NIMART trained and certified as competent to work independentlyFluency in Xhosa, English, ZuluValid Driver's license and ability to driveOwn transportDispensing licenseResponsibilities:Provide a welcoming and supportive environment for youth and adolescent clientsEnsure good clinic flow in the youth clinic (YC)Maintain participant confidentialityProvide education on sexual reproductive health including HIV/TB and STI education, screening, and treatment and follow-up care to clientsRapid testing for HIV, STIs, and pregnancyPerform pregnancy tests as requiredProvide Family Planning counselling & services including insertion and removal of ImplanonProvide PrEP and ARVs as required and related education and support on side-effects, adherence, etc.Provide Primary Health Care services (including mental health) according to PACK & EDL guidelinesAssess, advise and treat clients needing a prescriptionEnsure familiarity with local counselling testing and referral guidelinesRefer to relevant secondary or tertiary hospital as neededCapture data daily on Redcap databaseEnsure that consultation rooms have sufficient supplies to run the clinic each dayOrder stock monthly from ProvinceProvide stats monthly to DOH (Department of Health)Manage medical waste monthlyMonthly checking of emergency trolley and eyewash stationsValues fit: Passion, Innovation, Progress, Integrity, Respect, Excellence.
