Job TitleCleanerJob DescriptionThe job involves carrying out cleaning duties to make sure that all areas are clean and safe places wherestaff can care for patients. You'll do with routine cleaning which needs to be done on a daily or weeklybasis as well as emergencies such as spills. You may also carry out regular, planned deep cleaning on amonthly or annual basis.You'll oversee the cleaning work along with other co-staffs. You will allocate work to make sure all thecleaning is carried out where and when it is needed. You also make sure that you are available for routinecleaning as well as unexpected emergency situations.Duties of the job include:• Cleaning hard floors with mops or electric floor cleaners;• Using vacuum cleaners or carpet cleaners;• Cleaning toilet and bathroom areas.Key Skills:• Be physically fit;• Follow instructions and procedures;• Pay attention to detail;• Work as part of a team;• Take responsibility for their own work;• Be able to work unsupervised;• Good organisation skills;• Excellent teamwork skills.GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: POLICIES AND PROCEDURESThe post-holder is required to familiarise themselves with all policies and procedures and to comply withthese at all times. Failure to comply with any of these policies may result in disciplinary action up to andincluding dismissal. The post-holdermust comply with all company Information and Data Protection policies at all times.HEALTH AND SAFETYEmployees must be aware of the responsibilities placed on them under the Health and Safety at Work Act(1974) and any subsequent relevant legislation and must follow these in full at all times including ensuringthat they act in line with all agreed procedures at all times in order to maintain a safe environment forpatients, visitors and staff. Failure to comply with these policies may result in disciplinary action up to andincluding dismissal.MANAGING STRESSThe company has an agreed policy & procedure which links with a range of services and arrangementsfor staff to manage stress. All staff are required to familiarise themselves with the policy and services to bestmanage their own and their colleagues' stress.HEALTHCARE ASSOCIATED INFECTIONS (HCAIs)All staff has a responsibility to act and follow all instructions to protect patients, staff and others from HCAIs.All staff are required to follow the Hygiene Code and all company policies and procedures related to itand the Health Act 2006. Failure to comply with any of these may result in disciplinary action up to andincluding dismissal.EQUALITY & DIVERSITYThe company has adopted a Managing Staff Diversity Strategy & Policy covering all of its staff and it is theresponsibility of all staff to comply with these requirements at all times. Failure to comply with thesepolicies may result in disciplinary action up to and including dismissal.FLEXIBILITYThis job description is intended to provide a broad outline of the main responsibilities only. The post-holderis required to be flexible in developing their role in agreement with their designated manager. In addition,they may be required by their manager to carry out any other duty commensurate with their banding andexpertise.EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTMinimum 2 years of experience in a healthcare role.DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION:• GCSEs in English and maths.• NVQ in hotel services or health care#J-18808-Ljbffr
