As a Civil Engineering Technologist, you will be responsible for designing and overseeing the construction of various civil engineering projects, including roads, sewer systems, and stormwater drainage.Responsibilities & Skills:Strong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionStrong time management skills and excellent attention to detailStrong understanding of engineering principles and processesAbility to work on multiple projects/deadlinesAbility to work in a fast-paced collaborative environmentStrong technical skills and able to manage projects from Conceptual to Detailed Design, Documentation and Contract Administration of services for civil infrastructure projects including but not limited to:Municipal servicesEarthworksStormwater ReticulationSewer ReticulationWater ReticulationPlatforms and assessmentsEnsure all designs are checked and approved by the relevant manager prior to forwarding to the relevant client and contractorPerforming due diligence on the impact and feasibility of new construction sitesThe preparation of feasibility reportsAttending meetings with clients and stakeholders as and when requiredAssist with the implementation of medium to large sized projects within technical standards, quality, budgets, and time framesEnsure effectiveness, quality, and profitability of completed projects including project follow-up, to monitor project deliverables and client satisfaction levelsSite supervision as and when requiredContribute to the preparation of project reports and proficiency in technical report writingA working understanding of project finances and project budgets for medium to large scale projectsSurveying new construction sites and assessing existing structures for upgradesSound Project Management Skills – Liaise, co-operate, and provide required information to clients and stakeholders at various stagesPreparation of estimates of construction costs (BOQs)Preparation of specifications and preambles for construction works (Colto / Coto / SANS / GCC)Requirements:Completed minimum or BTech.Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite (MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint)No less than 10 years experience in a similar position within a Consulting Engineering firm (pref)Proficient in design packagesAutoCAD Civil 3D experience essentialTechnical knowledge of drawing and design processesProject Management experience is essentialBenefits:Salary negotiable.
