Qualifications: A degree in General Civil Engineering or a related field.
Experience: Proven experience in pricing General Civil Engineering and Highways tenders.
Knowledge: A deep understanding of civil engineering and the construction industry.
Confidence: Independently pricing projects with minimal reliance on others.
Direct and concise: Exceptional analytical skills, including strong financial acumen and organisational abilities.
Ability: Thrive in high-pressure situations and meet tight deadlines.
Excellent Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Role and responsibilities:
What your role will include:
Winning Work: Drive our success by producing winning tenders and nurturing key customer relationships.
Cost Estimation: Create precise cost estimates for materials, labour, and equipment, based on customer drawings and specifications.
Market Insight: Stay ahead of the curve by understanding current market prices and benchmarking our solutions for increased success rates.
Collaboration: Work closely with the New Business Manager to ensure compliance with J McCann Limited's procedures, business strategy, and clearance levels.
Customer Engagement: Assist in presenting tender proposals to customers and actively participate in customer meetings throughout the tender process.
Risk Management: Assess and adhere to all risk assessments and health and safety requirements, ensuring the safety of all stakeholders.
Supplier Selection: Source suitable sub-contractors and specialists for each project to guarantee the highest quality standards.
Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with Construction Managers, Planners, and the Design Team to ensure seamless project execution.
Documentation: Prepare comprehensive documents for senior management to showcase cost calculations and project feasibility.
Knowledge Transfer: Ensure a smooth handover of bid documentation to the commercial and project operations teams.
