Overview:
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Civil Engineer to join our client's team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing municipal services, managing professional services tendering processes, navigating statutory approval procedures, and overseeing all aspects of project development.
Responsibilities:
Design municipal services including water supply, sanitation systems, bulk earthworks/platforms, roads, and stormwater management.
Manage professional services tendering processes and agreements.
Navigate statutory approval procedures.
Compile construction contract documentation and oversee procurement processes.
Utilize design software such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, WaterMate, and PipeMate for project development.
Oversee all stages of project development including planning, conceptual design, detail design, specification, procurement, and contract administration.
Manage commercial, quality, resourcing, scheduling, and technical risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Conduct measurements and valuations to ensure accurate project schedules, quantities, and valuations.
Collaborate with project management teams to provide necessary project information and assistance.
Contribute to technical advancement and business development efforts by maintaining quality assurance and pursuing technical excellence.
Ensure timely delivery of project milestones and deliverables.
Collaborate effectively within a team environment and independently with minimal guidance.
Demonstrate a sense of urgency and efficiency in executing project tasks.
Mentor junior staff and actively participate in the design review process.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (BTech / BEng).
Minimum of 8 years of professional experience post-graduation.
Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, WaterMate, and PipeMate or similar programs.
Strong understanding of professional services tendering processes and agreements.
Familiarity with statutory approval procedures.
Experience in compiling construction contract documentation (GCC, FIDIC, NEC) and overseeing procurement processes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage commercial, quality, resourcing, scheduling, and technical risks.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Valid driver's license and own vehicle; willingness to travel to remote project sites.
Ability to mentor junior staff and participate in design review processes.
Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
