CIVIL ENGINEER / CIVIL TECHNOLOGISTClient is a multi-disciplinary company with head office in Umhlanga, South Africa and branches around RSA as well as Mauritius, Kenya and the UK. Our services include engineering, project management, quantity surveying, environmental consulting, management consulting and town planning. Our Civil Engineering Division is looking for a Civil Engineer or Technologist to be based at our Umhlanga office.Applicants must be:A Graduate in BSc Civ Eng / B Eng (Civils) or B Tech (Civil Eng) or must be already registered or close to being as a Pr Eng or Pr Tech EngECSA Registration certificate or Engineer in Training certificate to accompany applicationThe ideal candidate would meet the following criteria:Leadership skills underpinned by strong technical ability.Should be looking to make a final move for a long-term career with Client.Minimum 5 years' technical experience and 1-2 years' team leadership experience (most of which in a consulting engineering firm)Experience in:Roads, earthworks, storm water and sewer - essentialStorm water managementPump station design (both sewer and water supply) desirable.Other required skills, abilities and behaviours:Must be active in the design field and proficient in use of MS Office, Autocad Civil 3D (essential) and IDAS an advantageKnowledgeable in Hec-ras, GIS, PCSWMM or similar an advantageKnowledgeable in Thekweni standards an advantageProblem Solving and Critical ThinkingAccurate – with strong attention to detailConfident, with strong interaction / people skillsDynamic and driven – yet humbleEven temperedTeam playerKey result areas (technical and managerial):Technical expertise on civils projectsDeliver complete projects through the full project life cycle would be an advantageClient and stakeholder relationship managementProject specific controlsMentorship of junior engineersMust have a driver's license and be willing to travel to sites in SA and Africa if required.Please Note:Should you not be contacted within 1 month, consider your application unsuccessful.
