We are seeking a Civil Engineer with a strong background in water and sanitation projects to join our dynamic team.
Job Summary:As a Civil Engineer specializing in water and sanitation, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and management of key infrastructure projects. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver high-quality engineering solutions, ensuring sustainable and efficient water and sanitation services for a variety of clients. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, good communication skills, and the ability to prepare detailed reports.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and oversee the construction of water and sanitation infrastructure such as pipelines, reservoirs, pump stations, and treatment plants.Conduct feasibility studies, site inspections, and prepare design specifications for water and wastewater projects.Ensure that designs comply with relevant regulations, standards, and sustainability goals.Develop and maintain project documentation, including technical reports, design briefs, and engineering calculations.Provide project management support, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.Collaborate closely with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders to assess project requirements and provide engineering solutions.Supervise construction activities and coordinate with contractors and site teams to ensure compliance with design specifications and standards.Prepare and present technical reports and progress updates to clients and project teams.Ensure proper operation and maintenance strategies for water and sanitation systems are in place.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.5 to 10 years of experience in water and sanitation projects, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.Strong understanding of water supply systems, wastewater treatment, and related infrastructure.Proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and relevant hydraulic modeling software.Ability to write detailed technical reports and communicate complex information clearly.Excellent project management skills and the ability to lead project teams.Knowledge of environmental and public health regulations related to water and sanitation infrastructure.Professional registration (Pr Eng) with ECSA or working towards registration is highly advantageous.Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction and stakeholder engagement.
Preferred Skills:
Experience working on bulk water and sanitation projects for both public and private sector clients.Familiarity with tender processes and preparation of bid documents.Hands-on experience in construction supervision of water and sanitation infrastructure.
Must reside in Bloemfontein or be willing to relocate.
