Qualifications:
BSc (Civil Engineering) / BEng (Civil)3+ years relevant post graduate experience
Knowledge, skills and experience:
Technical Expertise: Carries out technical design work to a high standard. Has a sound working knowledge of civil/structural engineering applications and techniques relevant to the project environment.
Problem solving: Ability to identify problems, determine possible solutions, actively works to resolve problems by building on the experience of others.
Analytical thinking: Ability to identify issues, obtain relevant information, relate and compare data from different sources, and identify alternative solutions.
Communication: Ability to convey information clearly and concisely to groups or individuals either verbally or in writing to ensure understanding. Ability to listen and respond appropriately to others.

Job Description:
Participates as a member of the civil engineering team on all company projects. May perform the function of Lead Civil Engineer on smaller projects, under the guidance of Senior or Principal Civil Engineer.
Responsibilities:
Performs engineering design calculations and prepares design sketches as required on assigned projects.
Assists the civil designers in the preparation of civil and structural drawings.
Reviews and comments on civil and structural drawings under the guidance of his/her supervising engineer.
Reviews and comments on supplier documents and other discipline drawings under the guidance of his/her supervising engineer.
Attends progress meetings and assists in the preparation of project progress reports on behalf of his/her supervising engineer.
Advises his/her supervising engineer of any slippages and their causes, along with proposed corrective actions.
Advises his/her supervising engineer of any technical problems and unresolved differences with other groups.
Assists in the preparation of contract requisitions and schedules of quantity for civil and structural work on assigned projects.
Liaises with construction personnel and addresses site queries during construction under the guidance of his/her supervising engineer.
