IntroductionFastway Couriers is currently recruiting for an experienced and qualified General Manager to join their team. The General Manager will be responsible for the overall management and accountability of the Cape Town Branch.
ResponsibilitiesPerformance Management: Increase sales and profitability in the franchise territory.Manage costs.Training and Compliance: Ensure that all staff adheres to all franchise company procedures, regulations and standard operating procedures.Ensure all staff have undertaken and passed all Fastway training modules and attend ongoing training modules.Ensure all CFs and AD's have undertaken all Fastway training modules and attend ongoing management and FSO training.Ensure all third parties - contractors, pointers, temporary staff have undertaken the relevant Fastway training modules.Ensure everyone that is employed by or contracted to the company has:A clean credit rating.Passed a polygraph test for acts of deception.A clean criminal record.Business Analysis, Planning and Budgeting: Understand the Fastway system and the depot operation.Analyse sales and costs and formulate a budget.Develop business plans with and for each CF.Communication and Leadership: Create an environment where employees enjoy coming to work.Communicate with CFs, staff, FSO and shareholders.Conduct weekly CFs and staff meetings to ensure performance and compliance.Sales and Marketing: Build and maintain relationships with key clients.Adopt all Fastway sales and marketing initiatives.Raise customer awareness of Fastway in the region.Constantly promote Saturation Marketing.CF Recruitment: Advertise, promote regularly for new franchisees, assist existing CF splits, and sell same.QualificationsBachelor's Degree would be an added advantage.5 years' relevant experience as General Manager or related title in the franchise industry with proven track record displaying excellent commercial acumen.Excellent leadership, collaborative and strong problem-solving skills.Familiar with corporate law and management of best practices.Excellent in time management & deadlines.Strong analytical skills.Broad knowledge of accounting principles.Proficiency in branch level accounting and advanced computer skills (MS Office).Ability to make tough decisions.Quickly understanding new concepts.Able to think outside the box.Good team player with excellent management skills.Determined and motivated.Sense of urgency and adherence to deadlines.Solution driven.Creative and dynamic.A positive attitude with a passion for people is essential!!!Must be service oriented always.Must have a CAN-DO attitude.Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.Valid Code 08 driver's license / own reliable vehicle.
