Act as a senior technical advisor to junior quantitative analysts and Model Development analysts across the wider Model Risk and Development teams.Job DescriptionTake ownership of the full end-to-end model development lifecycle (development, implementation, and governance) of CIB regulatory credit capital models (PD, LGD, and EAD), to meet relevant business as usual and project timelines.Lead a team of modelling analysts, including mentoring, performance management, recruitment, talent management, and succession planning.Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, risk management frameworks, and internal policies and standards, and understand and manage risks and risk events (incidents) relevant to the process.Provide directional expertise to enhance model building skills across the team, including transferring knowledge and experience to junior team members and peers, and keep up with industry trends to ensure increased capacity to build models.Effectively manage stakeholders across different functions.A successful candidate will be a South African Citizen that holds at least an honours degree in Statistics, Business Mathematics and Informatics (BMI), Mathematical Statistics, or a related field with a minimum of 6 years' experience in statistical model development or validation in a Business Banking or Investment Banking environment, with process and people management experience preferred.
