We are in the process of transitioning from a services-based business model to a scalable technology model, and we are seeking a visionary Chief Software Architect to lead the development of our digital transformation strategy and systems.
Job Summary: As the Chief Software Architect (CSA), you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of our new energy and utility management systems. You will lead our IT team, manage technology strategy, and ensure that our systems are scalable, secure, and aligned with our business goals. This role is critical to our transformation into a technology-driven organisation and requires a leader with a strong background in technology and strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute the IT strategy to support the company's transition to a scalable technology model. Lead the design, development, and implementation of a new energy and utility management systems. Lead the design, development and implementation of new SaaS and PaaS products. Oversee the IT department, including infrastructure, software development, and cybersecurity. Ensure within the system environment that the relevant ISO standards and other applicable Global best practice frameworks are complied with. Oversee the maintenance and improvement of legacy systems to ensure business continuity. Collaborate with other executives to align technology initiatives with business goals. Manage the IT budget and ensure cost-effective use of resources. Drive innovation and continuous improvement in our technology and processes. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards. Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning within the IT team. Keep up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure our company remains at the forefront of innovation and maintains a competitive edge (e.g., AI/ML, WEB 3.0, cloud computing, blockchain and decentralised technologies). Key Capabilities: 1 Proven Leadership Experience in Technology Transformation Proven experience as a CSA or in a similar senior IT leadership role. The candidate should have a strong track record of leading technology transformation projects, particularly in transitioning legacy systems to modern platforms. Experience in managing cross-functional teams and driving change across an organisation is crucial. 2 Strategic Vision and Innovation Ability to develop and execute a technology strategy that aligns with the company's goal of transitioning from a service-focused company to a technology-driven one. Experience in fostering innovation and staying ahead of industry trends, particularly in the context of smart metering, IoT, and sustainability. 3 Project Management and System Development Skills Strong project management skills, with experience in overseeing large-scale system development from concept through to deployment. Proficiency in modern development methodologies (Agile, DevOps) and familiarity with cloud technologies, cybersecurity, and data analytics. 4 Stakeholder Management and Communication Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, including the board of directors. Experience in working with vendors, managing budgets, and negotiating contracts. 5 Change Management and Cultural Fit Experience in managing change within an organisation, ensuring smooth transitions during system upgrades or replacements. A cultural fit with your company's values, particularly around innovation, sustainability, and customer focus. Education and Certifications A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or a related field. A post graduate or relevant advanced degree would be advantageous. Relevant certifications, such as ITIL, PMP, or cloud-specific certifications (AWS, Azure) could also be highlighted. Proven experience as a CSA or in a similar senior Systems leadership role. At least 10-15 years of experience, with a minimum of 5 years in an executive role. In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, software development, and cybersecurity.
