Qualifications and Professional CertificationA Legal Degree i.e. LLB, LLM or similar is essential.An advanced qualification in data privacy and Cyber Security Risk Management is advantageous.At least 8 years' experience in a Senior Risk and Compliance Leadership role, preferably within the Financial Services Sector or within one of the major Consulting/Auditing Firms. Essential Knowledge and SkillsAdvanced knowledge and understanding of sound legal, risk and compliance practices including corporate performance reporting.Sound knowledge and experience in all relevant legislative requirements as it relates to the role including POPIA and Data Processing requirements.Critical thinking, using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.High degree of transparency and integrity is essential in this role.Excellent analytical thinking capabilities in complex situations.Well-developed influencing skills across levels in the organisation, to allow for effective direction of the Company's risk and compliance affairs.Exceptional organizational abilities and effective problem solving and decision-making skills.Proven leadership of small to medium-sized teams.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Effective networking capabilities.A contemporary and balanced approach to risk management.
