Chief Operating Officer (Retail) - Western Cape, Cape TownAn established and successful Retail orientated company seeks a skilled and experienced COO. The product could be considered unique, and the company has offices in Johannesburg and Cape Town as well as in 2 international city capitals.
The COO will:
Play a critical role in the refinement, design and integration of organisation-wide, cross team systems and processes to ensure alignment and increased operational efficiency.Be a senior member of the team and part of EXCO, with accountability for the internal, day-to-day operational functions of the Group and management of a number of teams.Have accountability for shipping and logistics (operations and processes), business systems and processes, IT infrastructure and general IT including digital strategies and ecommerce, registrar function, inventory management, stores, sales and aftersales support (operational), legal and HR.The candidate should have a completed MBA or similar post grad qualification and at least 10 years hands-on experience in a senior operations management position (COO, Operations Director, etc.) where they have looked after all the areas indicated above.
Experience dealing with international markets and moving stock internationally is an advantage. Previous experience having worked at a successful entrepreneurial business is also advantageous.
Candidate must be confident and results driven with strong communication skills and be able to manage small specialised teams and to liaise at Board level.
