Chief Operating Officer (JB4601)Location: Maitland, Western CapeSalary: R per annum, CTCType: PermanentWe are seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer to join an established manufacturing company, overseeing operations in both South African and European markets, with exposure to importing raw materials from China.As the COO, you will work closely with the CEO to establish and implement operational strategies, driving the strategic direction through effective leadership and management of operational and financial activities.The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and strategic planning abilities, demonstrate business acumen to make decisive, on-the-spot decisions, be open to discussions and flexible in approach, and have the ability to execute business needs independently.Minimum Requirements:Suitably qualified in Business Administration.Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar, senior role.Experience in large-scale operations, ideally within manufacturing, steel manufacturing or shopfitting.Knowledge of strategic planning, budget management, financials and import.Willingness to travel to Europe and China between times a year, depending on operational requirements.Experience in design for customer-specific product applications and product development.Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations.Experience in reporting on key production metrics.Understanding of diverse business functions.Experience in leading projects.Understanding of corporate governance and general management best practices.Syspro experience (Advantageous).Proficient in MS Office and a working knowledge of ERP, CAD, and Manufacturing systems.Duties:Oversee and lead the operations to ensure delivery of high-quality, cost-effective and timely solutions in line with business needs.Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth.You will head up the manufacturing, supply chain, technical, health and safety, projects, planning and procurement departments.Plan and coordinate operations to ensure the financial success of the company.Foster relationships with senior leadership, and team members and build relationships with distributors and suppliers.Monitor and drive production to achieve deadlines and continuously improve, resolving issues that arise.Please do not apply using Scanned CVs; no supporting documentation is required at this point, this will be requested later.IMPORTANT: We specialize in specific niche fields.
