Job Requirements LLB Degree7-10 years experience in Commercial LawExperience in the healthcare / medical / pharmaceutical industry advantageousDuties and Responsibilities Lead strategic direction setting and strategic planning for Legal in alignment to the companys vision, mission and valuesDirect the Groups Legal activities, including the approval of legal plans and templates, the selection of directors or other high-level staff, or establishment or organization of major departmentsNegotiate or approve contracts or agreements with suppliers, distributors, state agencies, or other organizational entitiesFormulate and drive the implementation of departmental policies, goals, objectives, or procedures in conjunction with board members, organization officials, or staff membersParticipate in professional forums where financial and operational health of the department can be tracked and analysed at board levelCoordinate with external law firms in order to pursue legal cases for and against the Group to protect Groups interestsParticipate in decision making at EXCO level - prepare proposals and reports for submission to BoardSponsor company initiatives and projects as it relates to LegalEnsure business strategy of area of accountability is adequately budgeted for to drive the financial performance of the businessManage the costs associated with the contracting of external law firms and legal counsel and report accordinglyResearch, collate and present business intelligence to feed into management decisions and support business strategyEnsure audit processes, business intelligence and other information is used to analyse data in order to identify and escalate risk
