Position Overview: We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our financial operations and support our film distribution business's growth. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in finance, particularly within the entertainment or media sectors, and a deep understanding of the unique financial challenges and opportunities in film distribution.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy and Leadership:
Develop and implement the financial strategy aligned with the company's goals.
Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
Financial Planning and Analysis:
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling to support decision-making.
Analyse financial data and trends to identify risks and opportunities, providing insights to the executive team.
Cash Flow Management:
Ensure effective cash flow management, optimizing working capital to support distribution operations.
Monitor financial performance, preparing regular reports for stakeholders.
Investment and Capital Structure:
Evaluate and recommend capital structure strategies to support film acquisition and distribution activities.
Manage relationships with investors, lenders, and financial partners.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and industry standards.
Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with film distribution.
Business Development Support:
Collaborate with the executive team to assess potential film acquisition and distribution opportunities.
Provide financial analysis and due diligence for new projects and partnerships.
Reporting and Stakeholder Communication:
Prepare and present financial reports to the board, investors, and other stakeholders.
Maintain transparent communication regarding financial performance and strategic initiatives.
Team Development:
Mentor and develop finance staff, enhancing their skills and capabilities in line with industry standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
Proven experience as a CFO or in a senior financial leadership role, ideally within the film, media, or entertainment industry.
Strong understanding of financial modelling, forecasting, and performance management.
Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
Experience with financial software and reporting tools.
