Chief Financial Officer – 8 Months Contract
The Interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will provide executive oversight, strategic direction, and leadership for the EWSETA's financial and payroll-related functions. The CFO will develop and implement financial strategies, ensure compliance with financial legislation, manage financial resources, and support cross-functional leadership efforts within the Energy and Water Sector. This role requires a dynamic, experienced finance leader with extensive knowledge of financial management legislation and best practices.
1. Financial Strategy and Operations
Develop and execute EWSETA's financial strategy, aligning it with the organization's mission and goals.
Liaise with the accounting authority and executive team to stay responsive to financial information needs and strategic planning.
Contribute to strategic financial planning by ensuring internal financial targets and budgets align with the EWSETA's overall strategic plan and regulatory agreements.
Oversee and manage financial resources including working capital, assets, and liabilities.
Lead and manage the finance and accounting team to achieve department goals and ensure effective resource allocation.
Oversee expenditure and revenue management to ensure efficient utilization of funds.
Ensure compliance with reporting requirements mandated by financial management laws, including the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Treasury Regulations, and Delegation of Authority (DoA).
Maintain robust internal control systems to meet internal and external audit requirements.
2. Supply Chain Management (SCM)
Provide strategic direction in developing and implementing SCM processes, systems, and controls that comply with relevant legislation, standards, and internal policies.
Oversee Demand Management, Acquisition Management, Logistics Management, and Asset Management within the SCM function to ensure efficient procurement and supply processes.
3. Facilities and Travel Management
Provide executive oversight for EWSETA's Facilities and Travel functions, ensuring effective and compliant operational practices.
4. Cross-Functional Leadership and Sector Engagement
Collaborate with sector stakeholders and represent EWSETA at strategic forums within the Energy and Water Sector to establish EWSETA's authority.
Contribute to cross-functional leadership efforts within the organization to foster collaboration and alignment with EWSETA's objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
8 years' relevant experience as a CFO or in a similar financial leadership role
CA(SA) or CIMA qualification.
Knowledge of financial management legislation, including PFMA, and Treasury Regulations
