DUR002115 – CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER – LOCATION IS NEGOTIABLE Purpose of the Job: The successful candidate will represent the interests of the industry and producers, ensure the implementation of the company's mission, vision, and strategy, and lead the organization towards achieving short-, medium-, and long-term goals.
Required Qualifications Tertiary Education (MSc/MA in Business Administration and/or Agric.
Economics or similar) Technical Competencies & Experience: Understanding of the economics of on farm crop production Familiarity with the fresh produce export supply chain A broad understanding of international trade – mechanisms, barriers etc Ability to deal with diverse stakeholders: Farmers – small & large scale Agricultural input suppliers Service providers - transporters, packhouses & ports authorities Agricultural researcher institutions SA Government departments Agriculture Lands Trade & Industry Overseas customers (importers) Strong financial planning and analysis skills Planning Budgeting Forecasting Outstanding communication, diplomacy & lobbying skills Behavioural Competencies: Good communication skills – verbal & written.
Organization and time management skills.
Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills Problem-solving skills.
High attention to detail.
Leadership skills.
