Purpose of the Job:
Provide strategic leadership and direction for the company, ensuring the achievement of its vision, mission, and goals.
Oversee all operations of the company, develop and implement effective strategies, and ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
Manage the overall resources and make major corporate decisions and act as the main point of contact between the management, employees, and the public.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement the company's strategic plan to advance its mission and objectives and to promote revenue, profitability, and growth.
Provide visionary and strategic leadership to the company, ensuring alignment with the overall strategic direction.
Set strategic goals and ensure the goals are measurable.
Communicate effectively with the Director, providing timely updates on progress towards strategic goals.
Oversee the company's day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources.
Implement operational best practices across all departments, including production, marketing, finance, human resources, and rental properties.
Ensure compliance with all local and international regulations governing the civil & construction industry.
Develop and manage the company's annual budget and financial plans.
Monitor financial performance, ensuring the company meets its financial targets.
Provide accurate and timely financial reports to the Director.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, industry associations, suppliers, and customers.
Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and other events to enhance its reputation and brand.
Lead, motivate, and develop the executive team to ensure the achievement of company goals.
Foster a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and commitment to quality.
Implement effective talent management strategies to attract, develop, and retain top talent.
Identify and mitigate potential risks to the company, including market, operational, financial, and compliance risks.
Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures.
Lead the ideation, planning, and implementation of new and long-term business strategies.
Manage the company's assets and liabilities.
Serve as the figurative head of the organization.
Requirements and Desired Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred.
A minimum of 10 years of senior management experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the civil & construction industry.
Advanced knowledge of South Africa taxation law and SARS (tax returns including VAT, PAYE, SDL, UIF, Income Tax, STC, and Provisional Tax).
Proven track record of success in developing and implementing strategic plans and achieving business objectives.
Strong financial acumen and experience in managing budgets and financial performance.
In-depth knowledge of the civil & construction industry, including market trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
