CHIEF EDUCATION SPECIALIST: OFFICE OF THE CHIEF DIRECTOR Reference Number : refs/020597 Directorate : Chief Directorate: School Management Number of Posts : 1 Package : R1 049 106 per annum per annum (an all-inclusive package) Requirements : A recognized three- or four-year qualification which includes professional teacher education plus a minimum of 9 years' experience in the educational field with credible, relevant management experience. knowledge of education legislation, regulations, Acts, agreements, policies, associated schedules, and procedures. Proven management and leadership skills. Sound communication, negotiation, conflict, and strategic management skills. The ability to coordinate and collaborate with internal stakeholders. Ability to work independently as well as in a team. Good written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in computer Literacy is essential (MS Word, Outlook, Excell, and PowerPoint). Valid driver's license. Duties : Coordinate the secretariat functions in the office of the Chief Director. Manage the general support staff and services in the office of the Chief Director. Coordinate the Chief Director's calendar. Ensure the safekeeping of documents in line with the relevant legislation. Manage implementation of education policies in all line functions within the Chief Directorate to support activities from the office of the Chief Directorate. Ensure that minutes are recorded and disseminated timeously to the relevant role players. Coordinate and collate all reports required. Coordinate audits, risk management, budget, and expenditure for the Chief Directorate. Analyse information and compile complex documents for the Chief Director. Quality assure submissions/reports. Coordinate, quality assure and compile presentations for the Chief Director. Develop submissions for the Chief Director. Ensure an effective and efficient tracking system for documents and cases in the Chief Director's Office. Coordinate contracts and performance reviews for Directors in reporting to the Chief Director. Manage resources in the Chief Directorate. Implementation and monitoring of departmental policies and strategies. Where applicable, candidate will be subjected to a skills/ knowledge or computer assessment test. All candidates for MMS positions will be required to undergo competency assessment and security clearance. Short-listed candidates will be subjected to a security clearance.
