Job Purpose: In this role reporting to the CEO/MD, play a pivotal and crucial role in the digital transformation journey of the business, overseeing the people, processes, and technologies within the IT Division to ensure delivery outcomes that support the strategic goals of the Firm. With digitisation, being the core competency, play a key leadership role in the critical strategic, technical and management initiatives from information security to customer experience and leveraging data to mitigate threats and drive business growth. KPIs include information technology strategic planning, trend analysis, resource planning stakeholder relationship management, systems architecture, managed service continuity, service delivery, governance and risk management.General Responsibilities:
To strategically direct and oversee the provisioning of ICT, Digital, Business Information Systems as well as organizational planning for Strategy and Organizational Performance Management and Reporting functions to enable systematic monitoring and evaluation of various business units.
To coordinate, support and enable the implementation of a robust, innovative and cohesive digital and IT strategy that supports service delivery and governance in a manner to ensure all businesses and digital platforms employ the most appropriate digital technology solutions to meet their strategic business objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for the oversight, management and direction of the firm's information technology function.
Provide strategic guidance and oversight to the portfolio of businesses and functions in area of responsibility.
Communicating technology strategy and their roadmap to stakeholders.
Drive the digitalisation and digital transformation initiatives of the firm.
Ensure IT strategy and cybersecurity alignment to Grant Thornton International's requirements.
Delivering new features and technological solutions that add demonstrable value for internal clients as well as clients of the firm.
Managing and mentoring our next generation of senior technical leaders.
Advising on technological options available to address business problems, providing timely advice on the feasibility.
Ensuring that the impact of internal tools and external features is always measurable.
Develop and oversee the digital and information strategy of the group in line with digital transformation principles, information technology principles and business strategies to achieve its different business objectives.
Provide strategic direction to the group and the team to drive the digital transformation agenda of the portfolio, delivering fit-for-purpose and future-fit solutions.
Influence, align and coordinate group wide digital initiatives limiting duplication and in line with the digital transformation agenda of the business units.
Ensure effective and collaborative strategic partnerships, that will enable the organisation to optimise opportunities, effectively execute and compete in the market.
Drive the creation of a digital enabled organisation, designed to innovate, scale and flex.
Enable and support the firm's hybrid way of work.
Ensure the definition of performance metrics for digital and information technology that will enable the organisation to objectively measure the success or failure of its various strategies including the digital strategy and investment in digital transformation.
Drive the implementation of the digital strategy, operating model, IT architecture and IT service offering that enables business growth and development.
Ensure effective decision-making on strategic digital and IT matters, by considering matters with the full value chain in mind, considering multiple perspectives and providing strategic guidance and solutions that directs the organisation in a way that does not compromise the integrity of the IT ecosystem.
Drive the implementation of a cohesive digital approach that supports the portfolio's long-term strategy.
Identify opportunities to leverage digital technology enablers to optimise business performance and increase efficiencies.
Manage IT and cyber security, and data privacy technological safeguards.
Measure ROI on digital initiatives, fine-tuning approaches as needed to ensure we're investing in the right tools and resources.
Identify new tools – AI, digital, and business application systems – that can support, enhance and improve solutions and products across the various businesses.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in information technology, engineering or business related qualifications.
Post graduate degree in Business, Digital Transformation, Information Technology, Computer Science, Digital Strategy or related field of study.
8-10 years' experience managing complex technology solutions, digital and process improvement.
5-7 years' experience within an auditing or financial services environment would be an advantage.
3 – 5 years' experience managing and leading a digital team.
Proven track record of leading and executing successful digital transformation projects.
Exposure to agile methodology, technology architecture, integrating systems and providing technology services to multiple business partners.
A deep understanding of Digital, including a deep understanding of industry trends and new innovations in Digital.
