Interprets Project brief in terms of product technical requirements. Designs lab experiments to help achieve customer requirements.Provides detailed project milestones to be discussed with his/her manager before laboratory work commences.Conducts laboratory experiments, analyses laboratory results and share them with his/her manager.Writes detailed technical projects reports Ensures compliance to AN sustainability objective.Shares knowledge gained during product development stage with MU factory support & ISC teams.Designs products that meet project brief in terms technical requirements and cost. Conducts benchmarking of developed products vs competitor products to gauge level of performance.Is the reference content expert for responsible portfolio of productsMay need from time to time guide a team of technicians and specialists on specific projectsMay be required to stand-in for the team leader on an ad-hoc basisIs required to actively participate in cross- functional forums, project teams, meetingsKey AccountabilitiesNew Product Development  Develop New Products or improve existing products as per project brief.Interprets Project brief in terms of product technical requirements. Provides detailed project milestones to be discussed with his/her manager before laboratory work commencesConducts laboratory experiments, analyses laboratory results and share them with his/her manager.Documents (Lab) results, visits etc through appropriate reporting systems.Writes detailed technical projects reports Ensures compliance to AN sustainability objective during new product development.Shares knowledge gained during product development stage with MU factory support & ISC teams.Designs products that meet project brief in terms technical requirements and cost. Conducts benchmarking of developed products vs competitor products to gauge level of performance.Prepare product kitchen reviewsContributes to the technical dossier and technical datasheets Take part in raw material contingenciesHelp calibrate laboratory equipmentTrain othersOwn one laboratory area and be responsible for its standard upkeep.Participate in daily area audits.Contribute to safety share / near missesContribute ideas to improve MDI processBenchmark product developed against competitor products in the market.Share results obtained with relevant stakeholders.Communicate products Unique Selling Points to marketing team to help promote the product.General Participate in small or medium complex projectsKeep up with internal and external developments in own field of expertise by participating in trainings and learnings on the job, train colleagues if neededParticipate in the 5S standard for the LTS laboratory. Actively participate in AN HSES, Quality and 5S programs.ExperienceMinimum Chemistry degree or Applied Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, supported by upwards of 3 years working in the specialist levelGood English language skills (writing, reading and ideally good speaking level)Good interpersonal skills (team spirit) and communication skills Be proactive, rigorous, organized and curiousBe result oriented, focus on problem solvingAvailable to travel to Product Development Centre (PDC) and supporting labs and territories when required.Required from time to time participate in "in-field" customer complaints visits and investigations At AkzoNobel we are highly committed to ensuring an inclusive and respectful workplace where all employees can be their best self.
