Chef De Partie

JOB PURPOSE  As a Chef De Partie on a cruise ship, the main responsibility will be to oversee and manage a specific section of the kitchen, such as grill, sauces, vegetables section.
The Chef De Partie reports to the Sous Chef, and will ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest standard, and in accordance with company standards and policies.
Creating the best culinary experience for the guests, offering them an outstanding service preparation of a large variety of international menu Works in compliance with the company operating standards and follows the Public Health and food safety procedures Supervises the food display, ensures that food is properly stored, sets up the workstations and keeps it clean at all times Responsible for the stock control and inventory.
Coaches, trains, and motivates team members to reach departmental goals Ensures batch cooking and preparation process practiced eliminating waste Maintains professional effective work relationship considering and respecting the different cultures  QUALIFICATIONS  Fluent in oral and written English, knowledge of any other major language is considered a major advantage High School or college graduate  Minimum of one years experience in a similar role on cruise vessel or hotel establishment Demonstrated knowledge of the operation of a high volume kitchen establishment  Clear understanding and use of company sanitation requirements DOCUMENTS REQUIRED Valid South African Passport Police Clearance
