In addition to our 200+ bed hospital, the Backus Health System includes numerous off-site locations, including several health centers, Backus Home Health Care and the Backus Outpatient Care Center, also in Norwich.
Backus Health Centers are located in Montville, Ledyard, Colchester, Norwich, Mystic, Waterford and North Stonington, and additional labs for blood draws are available throughout the region.
JOB SUMMARYThe Central Rehab Patient Service Representative (PSR) serves as a support and resource for outpatient rehabilitation locations on all levels of authorization.
Acts as a liaison to ensure all HHC Rehab Network (HHCRN) team members have current information and requirements for the insurance companies we participate with.
Requires an understanding of Rehab procedures, and patient history requirements for Rehab procedures.
This role requires working from multiple locations in the East Region and one day a week in Farmington.Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; Associates or Bachelor's degree in a clinical or business field preferred
Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Patient Service Representative experience required; 2 years' experience as Lead Patient Service Representative preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements • Ability to adhere to HIPAA policies at all times.• Ability to provide excellent and efficient Patient Service Representative Support.• Positive, customer-focused approach, with commitment to providing excellent patient care.• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment• Strong computer skills - solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and EPIC software.• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance requirements.• Travels to rehab sites quarterly• Demonstrate competency of PSR tasks/workflows
